The GR215A is a 16.1-ton D-Series motor grader and the heavy-duty variant of the GR215. Sized for ground leveling, ditching, slope scraping, bulldozing, scarification, and snow removal on highways, airports, farmlands, urban and rural roads, water conservancy projects, and farmland improvement work. Also rated for heavy-duty and mining areas. The Cummins 6CTA8.3-C215 main engine delivers 160 kW at 2,200 rpm (about 215 HP) with EU Stage II emission compliance. The 4,270 x 610 mm blade is 8 percent wider than the GR215's 3,965 mm blade and 17 percent wider than the 3,660 mm blade on the GR135, GR165, and GR180. Traction force at f=0.75 is at least 118 kN (39 percent higher than the GR215's 85 kN). Maximum gradeability is at least 30 percent (versus 25 percent on the GR215). Traction force at f=0.75 at least 118 kN, versus 85 kN on the standard GR215 (39 percent higher) and 140 kN on the mining-class GR3005T Pro. Sized for heavy grading work where the standard D-Series runs out of pulling capacity but the full mining-class chassis is not justified.
