The CAT D11 is a new 106.6-tonne mining dozer for open-pit coal and metal mines, large quarries and land reclamation projects: slot dozing, ripping hard rock, pushing overburden and shaping waste dumps. Blade options run from semi-universal and universal blades up to the Carrydozer, plus coal and reclamation blades for light material.
In reverse the Cat C32B delivers 714 kW against 634 kW forward, which shortens the empty return leg of every dozing cycle. The engine is built in two emission configurations: U.S. EPA Tier 2 equivalent, and U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final / EU Stage V, which requires ultra-low-sulfur diesel (15 ppm sulfur or less) and diesel exhaust fluid. The 32.1 L Cat C32B gives 634 kW net forward and 714 kW in reverse; the extra reverse power shortens the empty return leg of each dozing cycle. A torque divider with stator clutch frees the stator when torque is not needed, and drawbar pull reaches 659.2 kN in first gear.
Caterpillar builds the D11 with a U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final / EU Stage V C32B or a U.S. EPA Tier 2 equivalent C32B; both are rated 634 kW net forward. The Tier 4 Final version needs ultra-low-sulfur diesel (15 ppm sulfur or less) and diesel exhaust fluid. Confirm which configuration suits your site fuel supply when requesting a quote.
SU blade 27.2 m³ (5,584 mm), U blade 34.4 m³ (6,340 mm), Reclamation U 42 m³ and Carrydozer 43.6 m³ (6,704 mm); the Carrydozer runs on 915 mm shoes with 8.1 m² ground contact at 113,700 kg. A 29.3° angle between blade bottom and ground helps the blade penetrate and load. Coal blades and reclamation blades handle light material.
Single-shank ripper to 1,612 mm, deep-ripping shank to 2,172 mm, both with 294 kN penetration force and 661 kN pry-out; multi-shank ripper with 3,330 mm beam and 344 kN penetration force. Optional Automatic Ripper Control adjusts engine speed and ripper depth to limit track slip and wear. Leach pad and five-shank coal rippers are also offered.
Automated Blade Assist with dual tilt is standard and moves the blade to preset pitch positions. Optional AutoCarry controls the blade during the carry segment; Caterpillar reports up to 15% higher productivity. Grade Control 3D needs no blade masts or cables. The machine leaves the factory ready for Cat MineStar Command remote or semi-autonomous operation and MineStar Terrain guidance.
Variable piston pumps (670 L/min combined implement output) in a load-sensing system run cooler for longer seal life. AutoLube has ground-level fill and automatic shut-off, the single-plane cooling system opens with swing-out doors, and the pin-joint design removes the need for line boring when bearing inserts are replaced. Fluid levels are monitored on all compartments.
