XCMG GR165 Motor Grader

15-ton machine weight sits between the GR135 (11.2 t) and the GR180 (15.4 t). Traction force 77 kN — 31 percent higher than GR135's 59 kN, only 2 kN below the GR180. Specified for projects where GR135 runs out of duty cycle headroom but the GR180's larger 8.3L engine is more than needed. 8,900 x 2,625 x 3,420 mm chassis, same envelope as GR180.

Cummins 6BTA5.9 main engine — the 5.9-liter B-Series Cummins platform widely fielded across construction and on-highway truck markets globally. 132 kW at 2,200 rpm (about 180 HP), EU Stage II emission. Parts pool overlap with thousands of B-Series Cummins engines already in service reduces inventory carrying cost.

Specified for ground leveling, ditching, slope scraping, bulldozing, scarification, and snow removal on highways, airports, farmlands, urban and rural roads, water conservancy projects, and farmland improvement. Also rated for heavy-duty conditions, expanding the duty cycle envelope beyond the GR135.

Choose GR165 when GR135's 59 kN traction is insufficient but GR180's larger 8.3L 6CTA engine and 142 kW rating are more than the duty cycle justifies. Same chassis envelope as GR180 but smaller 5.9L 6BTA engine — lower parts inventory burden if the fleet runs other B-Series Cummins equipment.
