The 88 m main boom delivers 115 m maximum hoist height and 6,586 kN·m load moment — the same lift envelope as the XCA250_K sibling (70.8 t chassis, dual EU + EPA emission) but with the lightest dead weight in the 250-ton class. 24 percent lighter chassis means easier road permits, lower per-trip fuel cost, and faster inter-site transit than the XCA250_K at the same lift capability.

Two engines split travel and superstructure loads — the same dual-engine architecture used in the 750-ton flagship XCA750. Running only what each phase needs reduces fuel consumption during long-duty work and provides redundancy on critical motion systems. The XCA250L8 is the only 250-ton ATC in the XCMG lineup with a dual-engine configuration.

405 kW Weichai WP13.550E62 main engine — newer and more powerful than the Weichai WP12 family used in XCA160_S and XCA750. Meets China VI emission standard, China's current strictest road vehicle emission tier (mandatory for new commercial vehicle registrations since 2021, equivalent to Euro VI environmentally). Suited for Chinese domestic registrations and export to markets accepting China VI / Euro VI certification.
