ECR variant — compact tail swing keeps the upper-structure inside a tighter footprint than the standard 25-ton class XE235 platform. Suited to road-edge work along live traffic lanes, building-interior demolition with limited swing clearance, and urban construction where adjacent buildings or structures constrain rear swing room. The compact-radius envelope fits sites that would otherwise step down to a 20-ton class machine and trade away the heavier-end digging force.

Cummins B6.7 main engine (129 kW at 2,000 rpm, 6.7 L displacement, 881 N·m at 1,300 rpm). Euro V emission certified — ready for European municipal and road-maintenance contracts that disqualify lower emission tiers. Cummins B-series has established service depth across European Cummins channels independent of XCMG dealer infrastructure.

High-pressure common-rail electronic fuel injection holds fuel metering steady across the variable hydraulic load cycle. Same fuel-control approach used on the XE180F forestry sibling — relevant for fleets running attachment work where hydraulic demand swings dynamically rather than steady-state digging.

Auxiliary attachment control system supports multi-tool work — breaker, grapple, crusher, tilt bucket.
