XCMG RP953 Asphalt Paver

10.5 m maximum paving width — the widest in the XCMG large paver class. 1.5 m wider than the RP903 (9.15 m) and RP905/RP905S (9 m). Fits expressway roadbase paving where single-pass coverage of the full base width eliminates longitudinal joints — meaningful for stabilized soil work where every joint introduces moisture ingress and pre-compaction discontinuity.

500 mm maximum paving thickness — the thickest in the entire XCMG paver lineup, vs 450 mm on the RP905-series and 400 mm on the RP803/RP903. 25 percent thicker layer capacity than the 400 mm models. Sized for thick stabilized soil base courses and heavy-duty pavement reconstruction work where single-lift placement of the full base layer is the construction priority.

Double-tamper compacting system — two tamper bars working sequentially vs the single-tamper bar on the RP905/RP905S/RP905i siblings. The double-tamper delivers higher pre-compaction density on the 500 mm thick base course pour, reducing the downstream roller pass count for the same target density. Combined with the 10.5 m width, this is the configuration for buyers running stabilized soil and roadbase paving at scale.

Powered by the Shangchai SC9DK220 (162 kW). Distinct from the Cummins QSB6.7 used across the rest of the XCMG paver lineup — pick RP953 when Shangchai parts fit the buyer's existing fleet or when Shangchai dealer presence is stronger in the operating region.
