XCMG RP405 Asphalt Paver

Basic paving width 1.8-3.4 m extending to 4.5 m max — splits the gap between the 3.5 m RP355 mini class and the 7.5 m RP705 compact class. Fits projects where 3.5 m is too narrow for typical two-lane road repair (3.5 m single lane plus shoulder) and 7.5 m is oversize for the daily section length. 260 mm max paving thickness covers maintenance overlay and grade-road base lift designs.

Powered by the Shangchai SC4H130G3 diesel rated 95 kW, EU Stage III emission. Inline-four diesel sized for the small-paver application — 80 percent more power than the 53 kW mini-class RP355 to drive the wider screed and heavier 12 t platform mass. Crawler-tracked drive vs the wheeled RP455W (same 4.5 m width, same hopper class). Choose RP405 when project is grade-road maintenance, farm road work, or any site where soft/loose grade traction matters. Choose RP455W when project mix is many small municipal sections requiring 20 km/h self-driven inter-site moves. Same screed envelope so daily output is comparable on continuous laydown work.

Specified for pavement, bicycle path, farm road, and small road paving construction. Especially fit for grade highway maintenance — overlay work, mill-and-fill patches, and surface rehabilitation where the wide 12.5 m+ flagship pavers are oversize and the 3.5 m mini class is too narrow.
